What is Somatic Psychotherapy

Somatic Psychotherapy is a form of therapy where clients are guided to inquire underneath day to day storylines and into the felt sense of how experience is arising in the moment. It is here, in our direct experience, where we can access two things: body stories or body memories: imprints from difficult experiences where we had to cope or compensate in some way (hint- this is where symptoms arise from); and our blueprint: our body’s inherent impulse towards health and wholeness, an inherent treatment plan if you will. Somatic psychotherapy works with these two layers, supporting client’s innate inner healing capacities to meet old experiences in new ways- leading to new understanding, acceptance, completion, love and integration.
